Two-thirds of the MetroCascade team (Yule & Werner) were at NorthernVoice 2009 this past weekend, where we enjoyed a flood of presentations and sessions about blogging and social media (and someone sagely suggested killing that term, as it was getting overused)… It was fun, but now it’s important to remember that it’s shoulders to the wheel and focus that get things done.
And on that note, the team has been working behind the scenes on new features and on getting additional blogs and sites into the ‘Cascade.
For registered users, there are now new features in place, such as access to detailed events venues listings and google map locations for same.
We’re still working on how to put the mainstream news feeds either on a diet (so we capture only the items that really pertain to Victoria) or moving the one that remains a feed into the same hand-added category as some of the others.
And while we’re finding new great Victoria-area bloggers weekly, we’re looking for more. If you know of a local news or blog site, please tell us. Use the comments board on this blog, or else use the Suggest News function on MetroCascade‘s main page.
